- All fitness programs should include stabilization training. This type of training addresses muscular imbalances and helps to improve joints stabilization and overall posture.
- Changes in a person’s breathing patterns directly impact the movement system of the body known as the Kinetic Chain, composed of the nervous system, muscular system and the skeletal system. These changes may lead to Kinetic Chain dysfunction and health problems. If a person’s breathing patterns become shallower during exercise, the body switches from using the diaphragm as its main breathing muscle to using its secondary respiratory muscles. This negatively impacts posture, and may create excessive muscular tension, resulting in headaches, light-headedness and dizziness.
- Proper posture alignment keeps the body in a state of optimum neuromuscular efficiency. It enables proper joint mechanics and effective distribution of force throughout the Kinetic Chain. It also helps the body maintain high levels of functional strength. Without it, the body may degenerate and/or experience postural problems and injuries.
- Flexibility training has the benefits of improving muscle imbalances, increasing joint range of motion, relieving excessive tension of muscles and joint stress.
- Cardio-respiratory training, needed to keep your cardiac and respiratory systems healthy, can be used as a warm-up, cool-down or as a work-out itself. Regardless of a person's goal, cardio-respiratory training should be incorporated into all fitness programs.
